Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey was born on February 1st, 1976 in Riverside, California, USA but soon moved to Roselle in New Jersey with his family. During the late 90s he improved his poker game amongst co-workers while he was employed at a NJ telemarketing commpany, using a fake ID outside of work to get into the local casino games.

He is now known as one of the world's greatest poker players, beating Amarillo Slim, Phil Hellmuth, Sam Farha and Gus Hansen in final tables for WSOP and WPT championship wins. He has a total of five World Series of Poker bracelets, the first he won in 2000 at the age of 23 in a $2,500 PL Omaha event.

Phil is also a feared cash game player, playing the highest stake games in his home city of Las Vegas, Nevada at the Bellagio hotel. He's a regular player on Full Tilt Poker who he currently represents during live tournaments and also featured in the popular television show High Stakes Poker.

He often wears basketball jerseys during live events and television appearances, he's a big fan of the LA Lakers and Houston Rockets teams. Phil Ivey has also participated in the World Series of Golf which is a cross between a poker and golf tournament, he finished in third place.
